A not-for-profit bipartisan organization encouraging citizens across Iowa and America to support and defend the rights of the Jewish State of Israel.

As Israel is recognized as America’s closest strategic ally in the volatile Mideast region, we as Iowans stand with her supporting her sovereign right to exist free from terrorist attacks, and for the right to defend her citizens, homes, schools, businesses and territory. We acknowledge her sovereign right to exist and pursue what is best for Israel’s people. We encourage elected officials and citizens across the state of Iowa and America to support and defend the rights of the state of Israel.

The very existence of the state of Israel has been challenged from its inception in 1948. While many have learned of the importance of this nation through news reports; many place special importance to Israel from a faith perspective, often learned at their mother’s knee. We understand and respect that perspective and invite those who support Israel as a state and a people.

As Iowa has an important role in the quadrennial selection of our President, we also have the responsibility to share what is important to us as candidates and surrogates seek our support. Establishing an effective, statewide organization in place will be important as the next election grows closer. Yet, as we understand the ongoing importance of Israel, we view this organization to be one that will be sustaining through all electoral and caucus cycles.

Ed Skinner, former Democratic legislator, Matt Strawn, former State GOP Chair, Bud Hockenberg and Mike Schreurs founded Iowans Supporting Israel in 2013. 

Ed is considered our Founding Father as it was his brainchild and his passion for the cause that brought them all together.
